My all-time favorite Risk board thus far besides Earth Reversed. This board incorporates all of the traditional elements of Risk (owning a continent and vying for ownership of others, eliminating players for cards, and so forth) while opening up new opportunites to own land; expect six players to each have their own continent and "comfortable" borders. Well-done, creator!
Good map, I am well satisfied... also, the "middle" area, interestingly enough, has a pausible chance of being conquered, which many boards cannot manage. I'll play this one again!
I've played this board twice and am personally fond of the unique attempt made here. Done properly with large amounts of players, it could be both frustrating and interesting to see where players land themselves. I hope to see more from the map producer like this!
However, for those who don't love the setup or know it well, the map is complicated. In order to earn a "continent" bonus, one needs to hold the following:
1) A city
2) The roads connectd to the city
3) The territories connected to the road
The bonus, if I understood correctly from my games, is 2 for the city plus 1 per road. Great potential gameplay, the graphics are good, and the strategy is -much- more unique than the standard Risk map. I give this props. But, if it could be simplified bonus-wise, and the borders of territories / roads made more clear in future maps, that would improve it to perfection.
